5 things that I can’t road trip without

September 15, 2017

Happy Friday friends!! Today I’m packing up and headed on the road again! This time I’m off to one of my favorite cities EVER—Chicago! I can’t wait to capture another JK couple! As y’all know, I travel quite a bit for work and so I thought it would be fitting to share a few things that I take on EVERY road trip! Most of them are pretty normal things, but #3 just might surprise you!

#1. The first and perhaps the most important thing that I take with me on every road trips is my Dunkin Donuts iced coffee! Medium size with only cream, please!

#2. I always, always, always make sure that I have baby wipes with me! If you’re like me and you spend a lot of time on the road, that mean a lot of snacks. And snacks means sticky fingers and if there is one thing that I hate, it’s clammy hands!! Funny story, on one trip I went into the gas station to buy baby wipes and accidentally came out with diapers. #oops

#3. Licorice. Yes. I take licorice on every single road trip. It’s like a treat to myself for conquering another road trip! I am a huge fan of the ones that you can peel. They smell and taste like play-doh but whatever.

#4. I never leave the house without my AUX cord. Typically it’s in my car at all times but I always double check. Lately, I’ve been into podcasts, specifically The Happy Hour by Jamie Ivey. Her podcasts keep my sprits high and keep me motivated throughout the drive. I am always looking for more recommendations, so comment on this post with your favorite podcasters!

#5. Last but not least, snacks, snacks and more snacks. Besides licorice, I like to bring a few bottles of water, a salty snack, a healthy snack and a sweet snack. I like to buy these before my trip because these kind of things are always cheaper at the grocery store than they are at the gas stations! Also, I don’t eat fast food **very often, if EVER** and since that is pretty much all that is available on road trips, I always make sure that I am stocked with healthy treats for the drive!

That’s it friends! My sweet husband is joining me on my road trip today and for that I am SO thankful! Have the best weekend!
